The saddest part of this is the commentary on the United States: the perception by the Japanese that the most important phrases to learn while traveling in the US are phrases to do with being a victim of crime, instead of, say, how to order at a restaurant or greet a shopkeeper.
After all I believe pretty much every Asian knows self defense in some way... they practice anything that ends in "FU"...
