With the five year 'anniversary' of September 11th rapidly approaching, I have become ill all over again. That day scarred me. I was at work and heard nothing until after the towers had fallen.
I was outraged and devastated.
Five years later and we're still pointing fingers. Who's to blame?
Fact: Radical Fundamentalist Islamic groups have been bombing civilian targets for over 12 years. Islam itself as a religion is not to blame.
Fact: These bombings were happening during the Clinton administration. The USS Cole, The WTC garage, embassies across the world, and continue until this day in the Bush administration.
Fact: The Bush administration inherited this problem, but the Clinton administration had no way of knowing what was coming.
Fact: The Government of the United States would never have orchestrated and attack on its own financial centers and IT'S OWN PEOPLE for political gain for either party.
Fact: Movie makers and even 'news outlets' like CNN insist on boosting ratings and profits by replaying the tragedy and making false heroes and false enemies.
Fact: Thousands of innocents have died.
Fact: Some of our fellow bloggers with NO viable information (AV aside, with his background) insist that it's everyone else's fault besides the hijackers.
Fact: The wounds have not healed and won't for generations.
Fact: It's going to happen again no matter who is in power.
Fact: There are so many hindsight experts who could never manage this crisis.
Fact: People are the real story, not evil Presidents or lazy officials.
Fact: Anyone who is reading this is not one of the dead.
The vast leftist elite of America will use this tragedy to gain votes. Votes. Votes versus lives lost present and future. The current right wing administration will parade around heroes and the ghosts of heroes to ease the blame.
You fucking heartless bastards. All of you!
Boycott the nonsense. Boycott the right wing celebration of the heroic actions of those on a doomed flight. Boycott CNN's 24 hour rehash of September 11th on their website, complete with ALL of the original footage on their website in order to belabor this administration's terrible oversight. Boycott the cynical rhetoric that the world would be safe had someone, ANYONE else been in charge when it happened. Boycott the analysis.
Grieve, America, grieve. Support the surviving families, honor the dead and and WAKE THE FUCK UP!
Stop pointing your soiled finger at people who never flew a plane into a building or even suggested that action. Bush may be a bad president, but he did not cause September 11th.
Clinton did nothing to stop it, but HE did not fly those planes.
Inadequate security and lack of communication may have made it easier, but don't blame those who did what they thought was right and trusted that we were safe.
For fuck sake, stop blaming people and help America heal!
September 11th was not a movie. It was not a mini series. It was not a conspiracy by the rich or the Jews. It was not preventable without super human foresight. STOP FOR GOD'S SAKE AND HELP PEOPLE HEAL!!!
For one month, Americans banded together as a nation, mourned a tragedy and decided what actions to take. One month. Then congress began to fight. Then false enemies were created. Then we all went back to being left and right.
For one day, Monday September 11th, be an American and grieve, think, pray if that's your thing, remember and be a damn human being. People jumped out of the windows of a flaming skyscraper holding hands and died. Do you want to be the one who turns their last moment of ultimate fear and suffering into a TV show, a retrospective or a political activists propaganda lever? Or do you want to be a sympathetic human being?
ENOUGH!!!!!
Leave Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan and Al Quaeda aside for one day and remember what it felt like to see those towers melt into dust and ash. Remember what you felt when you saw people choose to plunge to their death. There is no solution to fix that day. There is only a strong remembrance and a heartfelt sorrow for those who died or lost loved ones.
So, to all you nameless, heartless assholes who think you'll hijack one more thing (like the day of September 11th) to prove your stupid political point (which is not yours, but the point of your elected representatives), take a giant step back and remember people died that day.
Don't profit from it. Don't win an argument by it. Mourn it and feel it in your soul the way we all did that day and NEVER FORGET THE VALUE OF THE HUMAN LIVES LOST.
I request that we put it all aside this coming Monday and all make it a point to post our deepest sympathy, sorrow and willingness to be human for a day and realize that Republicans, Democrats, Catholics, Muslims, Agnostics, atheists and Hindus died that day. People died.
I want every single person who reads this to post one thing this Monday paying proper respect to the solemnity of the event WITHOUT SPECULATING OR BLAMING. Put those people who suffered, died or saved lives first for one God Damn day.
I am making a temporary rule.
Anyone who desecrates the memory of that day with an agenda, propaganda, lies or promotions will be deleted and banned from this blog.
I am a joker at heart, but I can't take another year of people using the deaths of thousands to promote their own agenda. Please reply in the comments sections if you agree.

I think it was done by a rebellion of stingrays
I don't mind.
September 11th.......eh, my dad's birthday can keep my mind off of it seeing his birthday is on the same day.
My Birthday is the same Day Picasso Died, you don't see me all goofy.
thank you Dr. Murk. Great post. I will remember. No use in blaming...let's just think of those lost and how we can live with what has happened. Thanks.
As far I understand 911 did very serious psycological damage in American heads, I believe because US hasn't really experiences big tragedies, some people became highly unestable after that.
We never went to the moon.
Sadly, we should be examining the roor causes of terrorism and doing something to prevent the creation of more terrorists - that's how you stop terrorism. WHen one group feels so powerless against another that it has to resort to blowing itself up on busses, cafes, and planes - you need to examine your world.
Here's one hint: secret CIA prisons won't change any hearts and minds; I mean, except in the direction we don't want them to go.
NO! Not on that day we shouldn't! Give the dead and the suffering ONE day, you fuckbag!
Then go about your stupid, politically motivated, quixotic campiagn to blame everyone who isn't moderately liberal.
I agree with your sentiment, but again, your timing gauls me! I wonder what you're like at a funeral... jeez.
And Malach...
Picaso sucked and no one cares about his death at all except you and a few dumb artists.
It wasn't me.
Well, I understand your argument - we should respect the dead and remember them and thier lives and not politicize the anniversarry. I can certainly sympathize with the sentiments in that argument. And, I completely agree that no one should demonstrate at a military funeral, or at a surviving family members house, etc. Those, I think, are personal attacks in what should be a policy debate.
Here, on a blog, or in the media in general, I think there is no such taboo. We are all trying to figure out what ahppened, adn why, and how to stop it from happening again. I think the administration is aggravating the underlying causes of terrorism and is counterproductive - increasing the danger to the US. Others think that the only thing "those people" understand is strength, so we need to kick some ass.
In any case, having the discussion when awareness is the highest (usually an anniversarry) seems like the time the discussion can reach the most people adn do the most good.
Picasso sucked? Picasso is the most influential artist ever. In both art, culture, and fashion. He did more innovative stuff in 80+ years of life, than anyone else ever did. Without Picasso, we are all still trying to be Monet.
What the hell is wrong with Monet? What? You hate real life and want to hide in the cubist mind of a madman??? YOU'RE CRACKED!!! Picasso is a sucky suck bag of bad pictures.
And AV... One day please. Just one day. Be a dick the other 364. Ease of for one day, this monday. You'll have your precious little liberal revenge on Tuesday.
"September 11th was not a movie. It was not a mini series."
Sadly, and I agree with your sentiment here, now it is. ABC/Disney is planning on running "Path to 9/11" even though it is full of lies.
However, I don't consider critical analysis (as opposed to conspiracy theory) being a dick; and I don't consider anything I can do anywhere in the neighborhood of revenge. For revenge, all the neocons and their children would have to go and be maimed or killed in the desert.
IF I could have THAT on Tuesday, well, I'd be willing to hang up my keyboard forever.
I have a saying and I have said it in one of my disonance, Hollywood takes people tragedies and turns it into entertaintment, what a lack of respect, and they use the sesational part of it like "oh yeah we heart you" bla pure crap ... all they want is the money.
AV, you never fail to amaze. Nice one!
