A change in the political landscape of MA?

Wednesday, September 20, 2006

The next 7 weeks should be interesting.
Massachusetts is known as a "Left leaning, liberal state of Moon Bats". We got your Kennedys, your Barney Franks, John Kerrys, Tip O'Neils, your Hobbs vonWackamoles, etc. This is basically true; to be a Republican is the kiss of death. Republicans holding office around here are few and far between. Conservativism, is very unfashionable here in the Bay State. That is unless you want to be governer. MA has not had a Democratic governer since everyone favorite caterpillar browed greek whipping boy Michael Dukakis (1991). Since then there have been a succesion of mostly moderate Republicans as governers including our psuedo-governer Jane "not too" Swift.

Yesterday, Deval Patrick was nominated as the Democratic Candidate for governer in a landslide election over Tom Reilly and Chris Gabrielli (with 50% of the vote). Patrick is a very concise Democratic candidate, a "Liberal Moon Bat" (not my term if there is ever one). He is a candidate that the Democrats have sorely missed across most of the country, unabashidley liberal democrat, who is unafraid of the label, who does not pander or waffle. The Republican candidate, Uncle Mitt's Lt. Governer Kerry Healey is also a moderate Republican. Already, Patrick leads Healey in all the major polling.

Interestingly enough, it is now the Democrats who have a chrarismatic leader, who MA Republicans are deathly afraid of. This will be an interesting race. The rheotoric has already started, with the MA Republican refering to Patrick as a carpetbagger (interestingly enough the same could be said of Healey). The next seven week could be very interesting. If Patrick wins, his political career could also be very interesting, possibly resulting in a Presidential or Vice Presidential nod in the future. A Obama-Patrick ticket in some combination could be very interesting and a bit groudbreaking. Keep an eye on this race. The entire political face of Massachusetts could complete change as a result. Perhaps this is a revival for the Democrats.

So, when does the space shuttle just completely fall apart?
Again, if any of this crap lands on me, my family, or things I own you will be looking at the new owner of NASA.

Goodbye Steve Irwin
We miss you buddy.

I am Malach and I am off to Burkina Faso to attempt a coup d'état.

Good Bye Irwin, you are missed already!

CRIPES, PEOPLE, HE WAS AN ANIMAL SHOW HOST AND ACTIVIST, NOT JESUS H. CHRIST.

Enough with the Steve Irwin tributes already.

I am just analyzing the political race, not endorsing anyone candidate, and how do you know Irwin was not the second coming? Or for that matter David Koresh?

We must agree with the Captain on this one. While we feel that Steve Irwin was amusing to watch, and he did do some great things for animals, we feel that he took too many needless risks, much like an adrenalin junkie. We once witnessed an episode of his show where he put scorpions and tarantulas on his face. We feel there was no educational purpose to this, and he often did things such as this, just for a thrill. We feel that risks such as these led to his untimely demise, and we have decided that it is his own fault.

We are currently pondering a response for Dr. Murk's comment on taxes, as we begin to see that more taxes is not necessarily a bad thing. But we must do more pondering.

We are also happy about the winner of the Mass Primary. We have long watched the political going-ons of that state, and we feel that the winner will be a good fit. We also have concluded that we strongly dislike Mitt Romney, and his little desk-bitch underling.

I would never intend to get seventeen scorpions on my lap anymore, not even to pet them.

So, scorpions is that spanish for Naked Pretty Boys?

MA will always suck until New Hampshire takes it over and adds mountains and no taxes.
