Malach half season NFL Review

So, how were Malach prognostication powers?
Way back in August, Malach published his 2006-2007 NFL Preview . . let's see how he did, and discuss the current state of some of the teams of the NFL.

AFC EAST
Back in August I picked the Pats to finish 12-4, and easily win the divsion. They are currently 3 games up in the division, and might clinch the Division by the end of the month. I did think Deion Branch would be signed, but the Pats have done what they have always done, they now have a decent set of recieverzs in Gabriel, Gaffney, Caldwell, Jackson, and Brown. Maroney is a monster and better than Reggie Bush as predicted. The scary part is this team is getting better every week. *** The Dolphins on the other hand, who I figured would be the only challenge in the division to the Pats, have really dissappointed. Obviously Culpepper is not fully recovered from his injury, and resting your fortunes on Joey Harrington is boderline insanity. Saban will be gone by the next year. *** The Jets have been a bit of a surprise. Pennington has played well, and kept them in games, but they have little running game. This kid Cotchery looks like he's gonna be a player. I stated .500 will be a good season for this team, with a fairly easy schedule they might reach it. And if the Bengals and Steelers keep sucking they might make the playoffs. *** Buffalo I am still sticking with the 4 - 12 prediction.

AFC SOUTH
As stated in August: they will score, but they still have no defense. This Colts team is the worst of the last few years, expect a loss to the Pats this weekend. They will win their division, but no Super Bowl. *** Jacksonville, again the question is always Byron Leftwich who is become more and more like Drew Bledsoe. Still excellent defense, but do they have enough on the offensive side? They should make the playoffs. *** Houston . . . at least they are better than Oakland. *** Tennesee. There is hope in Tennesee. Vince Young will be a very good player. Keep rebuilding and don't fire Jeff Fisher.

AFC NORTH
Baltimore, quoth the Malach: This team fortunes rest with Steve McNair, if he still has it, they could be competing for a playoff spot and possibly send Cincy back to Earth. If not, they will finish at the bottom. Watch for Todd Heap to have a huge year with McNair. Baltimore, will win this Division. It will be interesting to see is they have enough offense. And, you should of traded Jamal Lewis to Minnesota, and kept Taylor *** The Bengals. How quickly they came back to earth when going up against the cream of the crop of the NFL. The scary part is their defense in better than the Colts. They are at a interesting place right now, and cannot afford to lose 4 of the last 9. *** Pittsburgh. Very dissapointing season. Is Roethlisberger proving the critics right? They defintely miss Jerome Bettis. They really need to win at least 7 of the last 9 to even have a shot. Their schedule ain't the easiest either. *** Romeo Crennel, I am looking for .500 out of this team. BTW, Charlie Frye is gonna be pretty good.

AFC WEST
Arguably the best division in football, minus the Raiders. The Raiders, let start with them. They are a joke of a team and the worst team in the NFL. *** Denver, they have New England's number, but you wonder how long before Jake Plummer implodes. And those of you waiting for Cutler to come in? Unless the Broncos fall out of the playoff race, don't expect it. *** San Deigo is a bit of a surprise. Phillip Rivers is turning into a pretty good quarterback, and their defense is also pretty good. Their match ups with Denver will determine the division. *** Kansas City unfortunatley has Herm Edwards as a coach which is worth 2 - 3 losses on it' own. They will just miss the playoffs.

NFC EAST
Overall an interesting divsion that anyone can win, but the Giants will take it, they have the best defense, and Manning is good enough to run the offense. The entire division (for that matter the entire NFC) is interesting. More on that in the summary. *** McNabb is having the season of his career, too bad they can't stop anyone from scoring on them. Brian Westbrook, I was wrong about you, you really have come into your own. This team is better than Dallas and should come in second, but will it be enough for a playoff spot? The NFC as a whole is very weak, and 8 - 8 might sneak in. *** Dallas, when I stated you were the best reality show on TV, I did not realize you would so completely live up to expectations. My only surprise in that Vanderjagt is been quiet. Romo will not take you deep into the playoffs, even if you make it. Hey Drew Bledsoe, you could make a nice career of easing in the back ups. Thank you Moe Lewis. *** Washington, you need a QB, and new coach and a new owner.

NFC SOUTH
New Orleans. I have always said, that NO needed a QB. Well they got one. This division kind of got all topsy turvy, I don't see NO finishing first, but they have a good chance to make the playoffs. *** Michael Vick. Did you finally figure out how to be a NFL QB? The last couple of weeks Vick has used his running skills to fake defenders out and then pass. If this continues, Atlanta will be a very good team, maybe the best in the NFC. Remember Mr. Vick, remember the lessons of Kordell Stewart. *** Carolina. Too one dimesional, they will do no better than 9 - 7. *** Tampa Bay, hey you did win a Super Bowl a few years ago.

NFC NORTH
The Bears. Well they seem to have found some offense. Interestingly though, Malach does not believe they are as good as everyone thinks they are. Bold prediction Patriots will beat them the last week of November. One thing you do have to look at it Chicago's schedule, they have played perhaps 2 quality teams, and quality is deabatable with Seattle. They will win the very weak divsion they are in, and probably be the first seed in the NFC with a 14 - 2 record. *** The Vikings, same as Chicago, has not had a particualry tough schedule. 2 of their losses are to AFC teams, and Pats last week showed how far they have not come. *** The scary part is Green Bay is better than the Lions, see what one all star QB can do for you.

NFC WEST
The more I see Seattle, the more I see a pretender. Yes they have not had Alexander, or Hasselbeck recently, but they give up so many points. They can't hang with the best in the AFC. *** St. Louis has come together pretty well this year, and it won't shock me if they finish first in the division, they have the same questions as Seattle, is their defense good enough. *** Denny Green, you migth be out of a job. Arizona needs a year or two. *** San Fran? Joe Montana retired a while ago.

It has become plainly obvious that the top teams in the AFC are still vastly better than the top teams of the NFC. Watch the next few weeks as the Pats, Colts, Baltimore, and Denver play some of the top teams in the NFC. What I see out of the NFC is teams that cannot stop anyones offense.

Wikigootube?
Google keeps going. Yesturday it was annouced Google acquired JotSpot.com. one of the leading producers of wiki's on the net. What is a wiki? Let the world's most famous Wiki explain it to you. What JotSpot has done has created a wiki that has a WYSIWYG editing, the ability to embed spreadsheets, calendars, photogalleries, and easily edit the look. Instead of Wikilanguage, JotSpot's wiki is designed to be used like a word processor. Here is a list of company that use JotSpot's wiki. Scary huh?

What does google do with this? Imagine what Google can do combining YouTube, JotSpot, and Blogger?

I am Malach, and Google, you can buy me.
