You're fired.

While I would like to think that the executives at MSNBC and CBS Radio dismissed Imus for his history of sexist and racist remarks; culminating in his attack on the Rutgers Women's Basketball Team, I know it isn't.

The reason he was fired: Adam Smith. Economics, baby. Advertisers were leaving the Imus show in droves. Insiders report that the numbers of cancelled advertisers was in the triple digits.

Why is this a good thing? Because advertisers are just a reflection of society - their entire existence depends on knowing what people want and don't want to hear. In addition, they know what kind of demand they can and cannot create with advertisements. Imus is no longer a product people want or a product advertisers can convince people they want. Good for us.

So, the bad news is that there are still plenty more sexist and racist "shock jocks" out there who are all too ready to laugh their misogyny and racism off as "just a joke" - but the good news is that the tide is turning.

Good riddance Imus.

I need to write an article about Al Sharpton.

Why write an article yourself when you can just copy and paste an article someone else wrote about Sharpton?

And, why is it when a racist, sexist white male is called out, instead of discussing the history of racism and sexism and straight white male privilege in the US, people just start pointing the finger at black people who offend them?

51% of the US popultation is female. Have 51% of our Presidents, Senators, Representatives, Justices, and CEO's been women? Closer to 0% than 51%. 12% of the US population is black. How are they faring in those same positions? Again, closer to 0% than 12%.

Hell, I'll even give you a break, and say let's forget about all of US History up to 1976. In just the past 30 years, after all of our landmark civil rights laws have been passed; how are the percentages?

Again, still closer to 0%.

Yeah, write or paste an article about Al Sharpton becasue HE is the big fucking problem in our contry.

Christ.

Tawana Brawley ring a bell?

FYI hispanic population dobled black population last year and they only been in this contry for one decade o-0
should I be proud? o-0

Yes, of course it does, every white guy raised with the straight white male privilege of the USA brings up her or one or two other incidents of unfair allegations made against white people when people try to discuss the overwhelming historical and present discrimination against minorities.

If there were a THOUSAND Brawley cases, it still would pale in comparison to the real issues.

There are no real issues. Both men are scum. What's the issue? Can't you both agree on that?

And excuse me, but Mr Lily White himself who used to make up songs like "Fear of a Hot Bath" in reference to African American artists like Public Enemy needs to look at his own history.

Don't spew your guilt on us. We tolerated your semi-racist gibberish in college. Remember where the finger points, whitey.
