Dragoon's Betting Odds: UFC 84

Friday, May 02, 2008

First off, this my first post here in along while, so I have to settle business.
1. Sorry Malach, but I won't being doing the Dick Biggma review I promised due to lack of interest of the that shitty webcomic and the tool that writes up the gold that is one interchangeable sex induendo after another.
2. Dick Biggman is horrible.

Now to the actual article of mine:

UFC 84:

Lightweight Championship bout: B.J. Penn vs. Sean Sherk
Very good sounding fight, but probably won't last long enough to keep my interest longer than 'That guy got knocked the fuck out!'.
Betting Odds: Sherk defeats Penn by TKO at 2:10 of the 1st round.
It will be back and forth for a bit, then Sherk rocks Penn to the floor, mounts, then rains down blows to the face for the Belt.

Light Heavyweight bout: Tito Ortiz vs. Lyoto Machida
Will easily be fight of the night. Lyoto will dominated first 2 rounds with stand-up mostly with the first round and ground game during the second. Tito will still look great during the whole fight and will make a strong come back in the 3rd. With an early rocking of Lyota to the floor, Tito plays with the ground, trying for the mount with trying to pass guard and good hit from top. Eventually takes back, but the crafty Lyoto will get out of the position and will get stood up with very little on the clock. Lyoto safely waits till the end of the round with Tito looking back in his prime.
Betting Odds: Machida defeats Ortiz by Unanimous decision (29-28 from all 3 judges).

Light Heavyweight bout: Wanderlei Silva vs. Keith Jardine
After this fight, you will fell like Wanderlei Silva should retire before he gets murdered in the ring again. Keith Jardine won't get the TKO. He will get the knockout that puts Silva on the mat with no ground'n'pound needed. Silva will defend against the punches till the beginning of the 2nd, but his knockout will be brutal and will easily top the Sherk's TKO.
Betting Odds: Jardine defeats Silva by KO at :55 of the 2nd round

2 for 1 Special: Round out the rest of the Main card
Light Heavyweight bout: Thiago Silva vs. Antonio Mendes
Light Heavyweight bout: Wilson Gouveia vs. Goran Reljic

The only fighter out of this bunch I have even seen is Silva, so this assessment will be all guesswork to see if I can 5-for-5.
Betting Odds: Silva defeats Mendes & Reljic defeats Gouveia

Rats, I could wait to see you Biggman stuff.

Penn v. Sherk: Sherk is coming off a month suspension for steriods, and Penn look AWESOME at lightweight. For all Sherks size, Penn is taller, and his BJJ and Judo too good. You can't Muscle Penn, Matt Hughes wasn't able to do it at 175, Sherk won't do it at 155. Penn, is the 2nd Tapout, then to face a very interesting fight, Penn vs. Kenny Florian

Ortiz v. Machinda. Ortiz is in the last years, but still can be dangerous, possible his last UFC fight. Machinda on the way up, and should have enough game to beat Ortiz, but Ortiz is deperate for a win, and as wiley as they come. Tough to call. If it goes the distance Ortiz will win cause Machinda need to knock him out.

Silav v. Jardine. This one should be fun. Jardine is too inconsistent, and Wanderlai is still scary, and needs this win. I would love to see yet another Silva/Rampage battle though is cage. Either Jardnine wins with a lucky punch or Silva goes ballistic and eats Jardine nose.

Thiago vs. Mendes is also interesting fight of two very similar fighters. I think it really depends on which Thiago Silva shows up.

Goveia and Reljic. Don't know much about Reljic only he is in with Fedor and I believe this is his first UFC fight. Gouviea is one of those test guys. If you can't beat him your ain't ready for the UFC.

By the way, thanks for some of these articles, it is not that I hate the other stuff, it was that this was all this blog was turing into, and there are way to many copies of lolcatz out there.

I'd love to see Ass Dragon write and draw a web comic. The Choas I remember was a no talent profanity robot who thought Tombstone was a bad movie.

Yeah, you're freaking cool.

Oh and UFC is fake.

Profanity Robot?
I love tombstone...

Kenny Florian...
You must have not heard, He fights Robert Huerta at UFC 86. Huerta is by far my favorite light-weight. Him and nate diaz at close second.

Now, to address murky:
I can't draw to save my life, and I got frustrated when I was trying to rip the Biggman sprites. I'll be able to get into webcomics soon enough, I just have to get the skill behind it. I have lack of creative juices though.

And Malach, can you elaborate on the second comment?

Murk: I was watching Ultimate Fighter a couple weeks ago...
Let's just it ended in a guy with a guy with a broken jaw in 2 places and him moaning in pain for 5 minutes.
It was the guy who got massacred by Red(Riddle).

Dragoon,

It's fake.

I didn't say they don't get hurt. People have died in pro wrestling. That's still fake.

Let's put it this way, I know a guy that could beat these guys (any weight class) hands down and he doesn't even have any rank or affiliation with a style of martial arts.

Trust me. Those guys are great athletes, they're in great shape and all, but take a 55 year old Hell's Angel or a 18 year old Crip and they'd kick the crap outta any MMA star.

As Jason Chambers.

I love you too, fuckface.

Hey Murk, In a fight or under UFC MMA rules?
